Focusing on the classic overland circuit, this journey packs in Peru’s most iconic highlights. Peru is a country of incredible contrasts but the high Andean plains, unique history and colourful traditional culture is probably what most people think of first. Archaeological highlights and cultural treasures are interspersed with cosmopolitan and colonial cities, the serene waters of Lake Titicaca and spectacular landscapes. Of course, the highlight of this trip will be exploring the famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, astounding not only for its size and construction but also its remote mountain setting.

Start in Peru’s vibrant and historic capital which overlooks the Pacific Ocean before veering south to ‘The White City’ – Arequipa – to start your discovery of Peru’s intriguing past. Cross the Colca Canyon through a deep gorge where condors fly to the high altiplano on which the highest navigable lake in the world sits at Titicaca. Sail to its lake communities before continuing on to spectacular Cusco, the gateway to the Incan empire, Machu Picchu, and still a vibrant centre for traditional communities.

2 nights Lima – 2 nights Arequipa – 2 nights Colca – 2 nights Lake Titicaca – 3 nights Cusco – 1 night Sacred Valley– 1 night Machu Picchu – 1 night Cusco – 1 night on plane
